Current Degree Pathway

The Bachelor’s Degree pathway in Mathematics provided for in the regulations currently in force is set out here, i.e. for students enrolled from the 2025/26 academic year onwards.

Students who are beyond the normal duration of the programme may continue to take exams according to the regulations in force at the time of their enrolment: see the page with the Chronology of the Regulations.

Entrance
Test

Are you interested in enrolling in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mathematics at the University of Naples Federico II?
Enrolment in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mathematics requires an admission test based on a multiple-choice questionnaire on Mathematics, Science, Logic and Verbal Comprehension.

The admission test, delivered online (TOLC-I), can be taken in several sessions scheduled between May and October.

Students who wish to enrol in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mathematics and have not passed the TOLC-I are automatically assigned additional learning requirements (OFA).

All students who have been assigned OFA can enrol in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mathematics as normal, but must take as their first exam one of Algebra I, Mathematical Analysis I or Geometry I included in the first-year curriculum.

How is the TOLC-I conducted?

This year the test can be taken from home in a new format called “TOLC@HOME”. All the information on how to register and access the virtual room in which the test is taken can be found on the website www.cisiaonline.it; specifically at the following link:

Home TOLC-I

The TOLC-I consists of 50 questions divided into 4 sections: Mathematics (20 questions), Science (10), Logic (10), Verbal Comprehension (10). The time allowed for the test is 1 hour and 50 minutes. The test is marked in real time: 1 point is awarded for each correct answer, 0 points for unanswered questions, and -0.25 points for each wrong answer. The test is passed if the candidate obtains a total score of 15 or above. Failure to pass the TOLC entails the assignment of an OFA (additional learning requirement), which consists in having to pass, as a first exam, one of the exams for the courses Algebra 1, Mathematical Analysis 1 and Geometry 1.

The TOLC-I includes an additional section on knowledge of the English language, consisting of 30 questions to be answered in 15 minutes. 1 point is awarded for each correct answer, and 0 points for unanswered or wrong answers. Please note: the English section does not count towards passing the TOLC-I, but offers students an additional opportunity: achieving a score of 21 or above allows them to obtain recognition of the 4 University Educational Credits (ECTS credits) of English provided for in the curriculum of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mathematics.

The TOLC-I sessions will begin in May and continue according to the calendar published and constantly updated on the portal:
